Amarguinha: The Original Bitter Almond Liqueur

A traditional Algarve recipe born from almond blossoms and served in a glass. Ice and lemon are recommended. The rest is tradition.

Taste: Freshness that lingers in a very persistent finish, where almond suggestions balance with sweet notes.

Alcohol Content: 20% vol.

Capacity: 70cl 

 

How to serve:

Serve well chilled, with two ice cubes and a slice of fresh lemon. This is how it has always been drunk in the Algarve. It also pairs very well with dry tonic or as the base for an Amarguinha Sour.
